City Location
Kingsport tn is located in upper East Tennessee on the Holston River. It is one of the three cites of the Mountain Empire. This empire is also known as the Tri Cities. The other two cities are Johnson City tn and Bristol tn / va.
The city lies in the Tennessee Valley. This low level mountainous valley lies between the large Blue Ridge mountains to the south and the large Clinch mountains to the north.
Local Industry
Kingsport tn is known as an industrial town because it’s the headquarters of Eastman Chemical Company. However, there are many local jobs besides industrial ones. For example, there are many medical, retail and food service jobs.
Transportation
Most of the towns retail and medical jobs are located on three major streets. These ones are Stone Drive, Eastman Road and Fort Henry Drive. Also, the city is crisscrossed by I – 26 which officially ends there and also highway 11-W and 23. The city also lies near I-81 which slides between Kingsport and Johnson City and thru Bristol tn.
Events
Every year a fun fest is held in the city. It feature parades, music and other exciting activities.
Recent News
Galway Ireland’s C&F Group agreed to locate in Kingsport. This move will provide 450 new jobs to the area. Of course, these new jobs will be added over a four year period. Anyhow, this would be the company’s first American location.
